1123 Miami

A West African and Asian fusion steakhouse.

The Name

Eleven Twenty Three

1123 is a date. November twenty third, Chef Tobias Dorzon's birthday, written in the strokes of one, one, two, three. West Africa, Asia, and the steakhouse are the three worlds he serves as one.

The Story of 1123

Two continents, one flame.

1123 is a steakhouse built on the conviction that fire is a universal language. We trace a line from the open flame grills of West Africa, the smoke of suya, the depth of jollof, the generosity of the communal table, to the disciplined precision of the East: the binchōtan glow of the robata, the restraint of a perfect cut, the quiet ritual of service.

Every plate is a conversation between heritage and technique. Dry aged cuts kissed by charcoal. Heat balanced by acid. Bold, unapologetic spice meeting clean, exacting form. This is not fusion for novelty's sake. It is a homecoming for two traditions that always belonged at the same fire.

Tobias Dorzon

Award Winning Chef · 2024 Maryland Chef of the Year · Food Network Star

A son of Liberia and a former professional athlete, Tobias Dorzon brings the same fire to the kitchen that he once brought to the field. He has built a national following for food that hits as hard as it impresses, and 1123 is the room he built for everything he has learned.

Classically trained in Sicily and sharpened by a decade inside Asian kitchens, he moves between worlds most chefs never touch. West African soul, Asian precision, and the raw power of a steakhouse. Three cuisines, one hand, one table.

Executive Chef

Gabriel Cerease

Gabriel Cerease cooks from a place few can fake, a real love for food. It started early and never let go, and it is the reason he chases flavor the way other people chase comfort.

He has traveled across the country to get here, sharpening his craft kitchen by kitchen and building an Asian repertoire that runs deep. As Executive Chef, Gabe runs the line across all five stations and holds the standard on every plate that leaves the pass.
